Escape Live are one of the UK’s leading Escape Room companies, with venues all over the UK.
The team at Escape Live approached us to reignite their brand which they had created a few years before, as they felt that as an organisation with a growing reputation it was holding them back .
What set them apart was their range of unique titles, rooms and games, whereas many other organisations will ‘buy in’ their offerings, Escape Live devised their own and built their rooms to an extremely high level of detail and quality.
This was something that we felt we needed to get across in the new brand, but the first hurdle was to address the secrecy that they felt they had to uphold in order to not ‘give the game away‘ so to speak.
The client was worried that if they showed the rooms in any of their marketing it would take away the element of surprise. Whilst we understood their viewpoint, their current branding show the viewer nothing and didn’t promote the level of quality and attention to detail in their games that set them apart from their competition, and so there was little for the audience to get excited about.
We created a new identity that refreshed their offer, but their brand was far more than just a logo.
We created a whole range of ‘movie-style’ posters based around their rooms, just as you would get when visiting a cinema and seeing the creative for new and upcoming movies. This built excitement and created intrigue, yet at the same time, demonstrated the level of quality, with highly polished graphics that engaged with the viewer.
This initially allowed us to create a sense of wonder around the rooms and their launch, both online and in-venue created an instant upturn in bookings.
We then consulted on a suite of ‘in-room’ photography that showed people playing the games, but were done in such a way that they built interest whilst without giving the game away.
These allowed us to created a range of marketing material including printed material and event and in-venue POS. Social media plays an important part in their promotion so we have created
a huge range of assets that are used daily.
This new brand was instrumental in them securing the exclusive license for the UK’s only Peaky Blinders escape rooms.
When the pandemic closed all their venues in 2020, they did not sit still and took their games online, again creating not only unique escape rooms that you could play on your own, but then when allowed, they put their existing rooms online so you could play from the comfort of your own home whilst a member of staff took instructions whilst in the games room.
Again, we have produced a wide range of branding and collateral for these new games, along with literature for their new events company which has grown from their original ‘venue only’ business.
I’ve worked with JADE on a number of projects through a number of organisations. One of the biggest was the rebranding of Escape Live. The team were tasked with coming up with imagery that would really sell the different experiences on offer. Again they took a detailed brief, visited each experience and delivered some top class creative that was perfect for the brand and target market.
